HIGH-END HYBRID PREAMPLIFIER TECHNOLOGY
The Magnat MR 780 is a premium hybrid stereo receiver that expertly fuses the warmth of classic tube amplification with modern digital convenience. Its low-noise preamplifier stage, powered by two preselected ECC 81 tubes, delivers a rich, natural sound ideal for audiophiles who appreciate analog character without sacrificing connectivity.
The receiver offers broad compatibility with both analog and digital sources. It features five RCA line inputs, a dedicated MM phono stage with a subsonic filter for vinyl playback, and a 3.5 mm front input for portable devices. For digital audio, the MR 780 is equipped with a high-performance Wolfson WM8740 DAC, two optical and two coaxial inputs, plus USB Audio 2.0 support for high-resolution playback up to 192kHz/24-bit. Integrated Bluetooth® 4.0 with aptX™ enables high-quality wireless streaming from compatible smartphones, tablets, or laptops.
For personal listening, a premium 6.3 mm headphone output ensures excellent audio performance, even with high-impedance headphones. A fixed-level Record Out is also provided for seamless integration with external recording gear or amplifiers.
POWERFUL A/B AMPLIFICATION AND AUDIOPHILE-GRANDE POWER SUPPLY
At the core of the Magnat MR 780 lies a discrete high-performance power amplifier that delivers outstanding audio dynamics and clarity across the full frequency range. Each channel provides 100 watts of continuous sine wave power into 4 ohms, ensuring ample headroom and precise control even with demanding loudspeakers. The amplifier section is supported by a carefully engineered power supply design, featuring an elaborate mains adapter with individually stabilized supply voltages for each internal circuit. This approach minimizes interference between stages and ensures consistent performance under load. A shielded toroidal transformer provides clean and efficient power delivery while reducing electromagnetic interference. To support high dynamic peaks and maintain stability during complex musical passages, the MR 780 is equipped with high-capacity filter and electrolytic capacitors. In addition, a dedicated standby power supply keeps energy consumption to a minimum when the unit is idle, combining performance with efficiency.
The Magnat MR 780 also features a fully integrated digital DAB/DAB+ tuner and FM tuner, giving users access to a wide range of radio stations in both digital and analog formats. The DAB/DAB+ capability ensures crystal-clear reception and access to the latest digital broadcasts, while the FM tuner provides reliable performance for traditional radio listening. The built-in RDS (Radio Data System) and radio text function allow broadcast information such as station names, song titles, and program details to be displayed clearly on the unit’s OLED screen. With 40 programmable station presets available for both DAB/DAB+ and FM, users can easily save and switch between their favorite stations. An intuitive station search function simplifies tuning for DAB channels, while an automatic scanning feature makes finding and storing FM stations quick and effortless.
